Apr. 2, 1975 - The last section of the CN Tower, the world's highest free-standing structure at the time, was put in place. The tower officially opened to the public on June 26, 1976, and three years later a discotheque called Sparkles opened in a section of the observation deck. Unfortunately, Sparkles closed down in 1991, leaving those looking to do the hustle at 346 metres out in the cold.
