The Passages to Canada program is a national storytelling initiative that encourages inspiring speakers to share their stories of coming to Canada with students and community groups. The Speakers Bureau is a diverse group of over 600 immigrants and refugees from all over the world including China, India, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Bosnia and Italy, who have made a home for themselves in Canada. Since the program launched in 2002, more than 100,000 students and New Canadians have heard our speakers’ personal stories of immigration. Find out more about booking a speaker to visit your classroom or community group by visiting the Passages to Canada website.
"I believe that if we could all have one voice, care about each other as human beings, regardless of race, religion, whatever differences we might have, and just look to each other as human beings and know that we all have a right to live, and there is a great danger in hate."
- Umwali Sollange, immigrated to Canada from Rwanda in 1998.
